Time in Gloucester 0

Nat and I have been in Gloucester, MA for almost a week and I think today was the first day that we pretty much just stayed inside the whole time. Its been great doin some early holiday shopping and not having to deal with the psycho crowds (or maybe this has more to do with the “recession”. I’ve been eatin some pretty awesome food too. Pizza from Gloucester is amazing – must be the ocean air and the sweetness of their sauce. Walking on the beach in the fall is awesome too since people are allowed to walk their dogs. In other terrific news, Joan will be flyin into Boston in a couple of days, so it’ll be great to catchup with my galpal since I havent seen her in months.

I feel bad that I missed Expozine this weekend tho. Hopefully one of you Mtlers ended up going and can let me know a lil bit about what I missed.

And now for some random material things that I’m stoked about:

1) Silk Nog
2) Stash Earl Grey tea (i know I’ve mentioned this before)
3) Waffle undershirts
4) Thinsulate
5) Walkers Shortbread cookies

Songwriting 0

There’s nothing more frustrating than having all the time in the world to work on something that you truly enjoy, only to find yourself staring at a blank page with a blinking cursor. When I was working full-time in San Diego I would dream of the day that I would be able to just work on art and music all day long. Yet here I am with this incredible opportunity and can only seem to waste my days doing nothing worth writing home about.

Recipe To-Do List 0

Here are some recipies I’d like to try out for the first time and/or make for this holiday season:

  • Anadama Bread: classic New England bread.
  • Black Bean Chilaquile (from Moosewood): gonna make this with Nat and add guac and sour cream to the mix… yum yum
  • Stained Glass Cookies: last time i made these some of the candy in the cookies didnt melt properly. I think I’d like to try Jolly Rancher instead of lifesavers.
  • Butternut Squash Soup this recipe just screams of comfort and warmth and I’ve never tried it before.Stained-glass shortbread cookie

more recipies to be added later…

Any suggestions or advice?
